Laven {Newborn portraits}

Posted on June 14, 2011

Laven arrived just in time…. for all our new baby props! We were so excited when his Mom facebooked us to set up a newborn session. He was a trooper and slept through most of his session. Here are our favorites…

Thanks for sharing this sweet baby with us for the afternoon! ~Cheryl and Nicole

We waited and waited for our friends, Paige & Tyler, to have little Jackson. Finally he is here! And he is a cutie for sure. We spent a Saturday evening capturing his newborn portraits and trying out some of our new newborn props. Here are our favorites…

Thanks for letting us completely take over your house guys! We love ya! ~Cheryl and Nicole

This past weekend Studio 1910 participated in the 16th annual Nixpo, which is a business showcase hosted by the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce. And it was THE place to be in Nixa. Local businesses, churches and groups exhibited – food, music, giveaways, contests, face painting. It was quite an event. I am not sure how many people came through on Saturday, but it was a steady stream of people all day. Nicole and I were there for our official ribbon cutting with The Chamber on Friday night and in our booth on Saturday. We will post photos from our ribbon cutting soon. We met so many people, and met with local vendors that we will use in our business.

Our clients are the best and we were happy to feature some of our recent family portraits, senior portraits, and wedding albums in our booth.

The Chamber team who organized and managed Nixpo.

Chamber President, Sharon, made a new friend!

Studio 1910 is a proud member of the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce, and we had a blast at Nixpo. We are so excited to be part of the Nixa community and supporters of Be Vocal 4 Shop Local. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth to say hi. We are so glad to have met so many people in the Community. We can’t wait for Nixpo next year! ~ Cheryl and Nicole

On March 15th, Ms. Sylvia Condra celebrated her 100th birthday. We were so happy to be able to photograph her big birthday celebration. Ms. Sylvia who was born in the William Howard Taft administration and has lived through 18 presidents, received a letter from Barack Obama with birthday wishes from the White House.

The Poinsett County Judge came out to proclaim March 15th Sylvia Condra Day.

Ms. Sylvia credits her long life to two things: drinking Coca Cola from a glass bottle every day, and having a glass of wine every night. We both enjoyed getting to know Ms. Sylvia and hearing all the stories she had to tell. Ms Sylvia in her own words, “I am a lucky person. I have had a wonderful life with a wonderful family.” Happy Birthday, Ms. Sylvia!

Thank you Ms. Judy and Jill for asking us to photograph this great celebration! ~ Cheryl and Nicole

Studio 1910 Holiday Schedule

Posted on December 22, 2010

It has been chaos at Studio 1910 for the last couple of months. We have juggled the last of 2010 weddings, photographing basketball / babies / families / seniors, processing holiday orders, designing books and albums, and playing Santa to get all the holiday orders delivered. Whew! But I can say, once again all that was promised by Christmas made it… just one more delivery to make. It is the time of year that we spend time with our family and recharge for the next year. Although we will be doing lots of planning for 2011, we are officially on Holiday Break until January 3rd. If you are waiting on a non-holiday order it will be placed and delivered when Studio 1910 reopens after the holiday break. The only thing left on the appointment calendar for 2010 is family time, eating lots of yummy food, watching movies, playing board games, and SLEEP. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We feel very blessed to have been able to share part of your lives this year. When we count our blessings, our clients are one thing we are most thankful for. ~ Cheryl and Nicole

So…. with the end of wedding season and the holiday rush, we have so neglected the blog. Thought blogging the Patterson family’s portrait session would be a great way to get back in the swing of things.

I got a telephone call from Lauren because she was searching for a photographer that could create art and give them something different from their portrait session. She had all these cool ideas about wardrobe and location – we knew this was definitely the family session for us! So we met at a historic house in Batesville just a couple of days before Thanksgiving to capture this little moment in time for them. I have to say, home run on both wardrobe and location – kudos to Lauren! Here are my favorites from their session:

Thanks Lauren for sharing your beautiful family with me! This session was a total blast for me! ~ Cheryl

We had a fun session with Britt, Amanda, Noah and Danielle at the park last weekend!

You may have noticed on the last few blog posts and some of our facebook images a new name has appeared… Studio 1910. Almost a year ago I met Nicole of Fite Fotography, and we photographed our first wedding together a few months later. At the time, I needed a second photographer for a wedding in Northwest Arkansas and this seemed like a great opportunity to make a new photography connection. For me art and photography are very personal, I take it very seriously. Although I joke about my job not seeming like work (which it doesn’t), I have worked hard and sacrified a lot to start and grow my business. Mauldin Photography has been my life blood for the past seven years, and I have not been willing to compromise my art for anything. Prior to last fall I do not think I would have even considered being a partner in business with anyone. I mean really, how often do you find someone that you click with, share the same dreams and values with, have the same business philosophies, and are completely compatible with? I never thought it possible, to tell you the truth. Then Nicole and I began working together and everything just clicked. And, I found the business partner I did not know I was looking for at the time. Honestly, it is one of the best things personally and professionally that could have happened to me.

So Studio 1910 is our shared vision. We create art and we have fun doing it – but we are passionate about it. With locations in the Springfield, Missouri area and Northeast Arkansas, we offer lifestyle wedding portraiture and are available for wedding commissions literally anywhere. Passports are current and ready to travel! We have been blessed to photograph weddings in Arkansas and Missouri, as well as destination weddings in Key West and Orange Beach this past year.

If you are a fan of mine on facebook, you’ve seen the posts about Studio 1910. I have invited all my friends and fans over to the Studio 1910 fan page. Eventually as our business comes together, all content will post on the Studio 1910 fan page. Honestly we have been so busy photographing weddings, seniors and families that we have not had time to donate to our new website.

With Studio 1910 you get the creative energies of two award winning photographers, capturing the emotions and details of your wedding day from two different perspectives and angles… although as I edit I find often find that we have photographed the exact same thing. I am always amused by that. Our goal is to give our exclusive wedding clients a one-of-a-kind experience with their wedding photographers. Studio 1910 offers a complete line of masterpiece wall portraits, wall art, and custom-designed wedding albums and coffeetable books. Photography IS our passion and I cannot wait to see where our dreams take us! ~ Cheryl

We also photograph families, babies, seniors, events, groups, teams, sports, and just about everything else you can think of. Become a friend, a fan, or “like” of Studio 1910 on facebook. Blogsite coming soon to studio1910.net!

I spent a fun hour yesterday with the McGuire family meeting Easton and Gracie. Easton just turned three months old and we started his Baby’s First Year portraits. He had lots of smiles for me…. until I picked up the camera. Gracie is another story, she is quite the camera ham. Here are my favorites from their session:

Johnny and Amie, thanks for asking me to do this this. You have a beautiful family! ~ Cheryl
